Abstract:

This writing aims to describe the teacher's strategy in designing and implementing authentic formative assessments based on simple digital games for grade II elementary students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The result of this research shows that the implementation of formative assessment involves PowerPoint to design and present the questions of the game and use a feature in Microsoft which is chatbox as a media to discuss and drop their answers. When students answer, the teacher will grade them based on a rubric and provide immediate feedback. Digital games have been circulating on online platforms and websites. This game can also be used as a media to do assessments of the students. For teachers who teach in schools with limited devices and inadequate signals, teachers can try to design an assessment using PowerPoint and modificate the display or games form using interesting features in it.
